Wingo

Wingo is a low-cost airline and a subsidiary of Copa Holdings S.A. (Copa Airlines). The airline was founded in 2016 to replace Copa Airlines Colombia and most of its services, with its first flight from Bogota to Cancun in December 2016.

General information

Economy class

Wingo’s economy class offers passengers a low-cost seat with one seat and a medium seat pitch.

Facilities

Passengers can choose to pay for additional facilities, such as a faster airport experience or seat selection.

Seats

Although the seats are not reclining, seat width, aisle space and cabin storage are good.

Premium Tourist

Wingo offers its passengers the concept of “pay only for what you want”. This means that, although there is no official premium economy class, passengers can choose to pay for certain extras and services to make their economy class experience more premium. Passengers can opt for faster airport services, from check-in to priority boarding. Passengers can also choose to change their seat to one located at the front of the cabin, where there is more legroom.

Business Class

No Business Class is currently offered on Wingo flights.

First class

At the moment this airline does not offer the first class section on its flights.

In-flight entertainment

Wingo does not currently offer its passengers any in-flight entertainment. Passengers can bring their own device on the plane to watch TV shows or downloaded movies, listen to music or play games.

Meal options

Wingo does not offer any complimentary meals or snacks on board its flights, however, passengers may purchase items from the onboard menu. The in-flight menu can be found online at the airline’s website. They offer items such as sandwiches, cereal bars, instant noodles and pasta, chips, nuts, crackers and candy. For domestic flights, passengers must pay in Colombian pesos, but in U.S. dollars for international flights. Food can only be purchased with cash.

Beverages and alcohol

As with food, the airline does not provide any complimentary beverages, but passengers may purchase beverages from the onboard menu. Beverages available for purchase include beer and whiskey, but also soft drinks such as water, fruit juices, iced tea, carbonated drinks and hot drinks such as tea and coffee.

WiFi

Wingo does not currently offer any type of WiFi on board its flights.

Frequent flyer

Wingo does not yet have a frequent flyer program.

Airline alliance

Wingo is not currently part of any airline alliance, but is a subsidiary of Copa Airlines.

 

Avianca

Avianca has been Colombia’s national airline since 1919. It is the largest airline in Colombia and the second largest in Latin America.

Services

Online check-in

Passengers have the opportunity to check in for their flight through our online check-in page on your website. You can use your reservation code or e-ticket number to check in for your Avianca flight online. Online check-in opens 24 hours before your flight time.

Airport check-in

To check in at the airport, Avianca indicates that passengers must present themselves at the check-in counters at least three hours before their flight if it is an international flight and at least one hour before their flight if it is a domestic flight.

Carry-on baggage

Passengers are entitled to one free piece of carry-on baggage and one free personal item. Baggage must not exceed 115 cm in dimension and must not weigh more than 10 kg. These rules apply to passengers flying in all classes.

Checked baggage

Economy class passengers are entitled to one free piece of checked baggage. Checked baggage must not exceed 158 cm and must not weigh more than 23 kg. Business Class passengers are entitled to two pieces of checked baggage free of charge with a maximum combined weight of 32 kg. The dimensions of each individual suitcase must not exceed 158 cm.

Economy Class

Economy class is the airline’s most economical cabin class. You can choose between Economy Class fares – Super Promo, Econo and Flexi. Although the facilities and seats are the same for each fare, passengers receive other advantages when purchasing a more expensive fare, such as free seat pre-selection and free cancellations and changes.

Business Class

The benefits of traveling as a Business Class passenger include priority boarding, VIP lounges, two pieces of baggage allowance, a special selection of food and beverage on board, and priority baggage tagging so that you are ready to collect your baggage as soon as possible upon arrival.

What are the Business Class seats like?

Comfortable Business seats recline to a sleeping position, and personal touch-screen televisions are provided. Amenities also include a pillow and blanket, shoe bags, travel kit, plenty of storage space, seat and light controls, USB port and international plug.

First class

The airline does not have a First Class cabin. Business Class is the highest level of the airline.

Onboard entertainment and Wifi

The airline offers individual televisions in some of its aircraft where movies, TV programs, music and the flight map can be found. However, for aircraft that do not have this service, the airline also has an application, called ‘Avianca Entertainment’, which can be downloaded to passengers’ cell phones, computers or personal tablets where the same entertainment can be accessed. The airline has power outlets for passengers to charge their personal devices. This service is not available on Airbus A318 or Embraer 190 aircraft. Passengers can enjoy high-speed WiFi, with prices shown to them once connected to their network, where passengers can choose their payment option.
